About
Welcome to Sultan's Market, a culinary gem nestled in Chicago's vibrant neighborhood at 2057 W North Ave. This food haven offers a delightful escape into the rich and diverse world of Middle Eastern cuisine. The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the warm aromas of freshly made dishes, inviting you to explore an array of flavors that transport you straight to the bustling markets of the Middle East.
Sultan's Market has quickly gained a reputation among food enthusiasts for their exceptional falafel sandwiches. One customer, Ahmad Alsalih, remarked on the falafel here as "the best in the US," comparing it favorably to those found in renowned culinary hubs like Syria, Jordan, and Lebanon. With each bite, it's easy to understand why; the crispy exterior and luscious filling make for a sensory experience that delights and satisfies.
But Sultan's Market isn't just about the food. The warmth and kindness of the staff shine as brightly as their offerings. Noah Salmon shared a heartwarming encounter, noting how the team went above and beyond, showering him and his companions with free pastries and drinks during a late-night visit. Such gestures create a familial atmosphere that invites repeat visits, making it more than just a restaurant but a community hub.
While the consensus is overwhelmingly positive, not every experience is flawless. Some diners, like Seamus McEvoy, have encountered minor hiccups, such as less-than-ideal pita texture. However, these moments do little to tarnish the overall appeal of the dining experience. It’s the hearty portions, affordability, and BYOB policy that capture the hearts of many, including satisfied crews from the local area, as noted by Megasaur Media LLC.
The allure of Sultan's Market goes beyond the dishes themselves. It’s the kindness, the generous portions, and the desire to ensure customer satisfaction that truly sets this restaurant apart. Caitlin K exemplified this with her experience where a slight delay led to complimentary baklava — a delicious touch that shows how much they value their patrons.
So whether you’re a Chicago local or just passing through, make sure to stop by Sultan's Market. Indulge in their mouthwatering falafel, bask in the warmth of their hospitality, and savor the tastes that truly reflect the heart of Middle Eastern culture.
“ Wow and wow! This might have been the best falafel sandwich in US and trust me I always try falafel in whatever city I travel to. Even compared to Syria, Jordan and Lebanon. This way is at the top of the list. Great job and I hope they keep the quality and the taste. And the price is a on point! I wish I took a photo before devouring this sandwich.. ”
“ Absolutely wonderful. They let us come in right before closing to use the restroom, so I bought a couple of drinks from the case and then they sent us out with free pastries to try! Really really delicious but the kindness is what stood out. ”
“ Not bad. We had the Meat combo dinner, it was good but there were some issues. Pitta was hard, which was disappointing, and the lamb was sausages, I was expecting some cut off the roaster. Anyway. Did the job. Just about. ”
“ Can’t beat the taste, can’t beat the price. Sultan’s is always an excellent option for our crew. The food is delicious and we all love the BYOB! ”
“ I absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I have been a few times. The food is phenomenal and the portions are a great size to leave you satisfied. We ordered ahead once and because Sultan was slightly behind on having our order ready at the estimated time we were provided, they apologized greatly as well as provided us with free baklava (which was AMAZING) and drinks. The kind gesture really touched my boyfriend and I. We will absolutely be back to support Sultan’s. We appreciate their great quality in food and wonderful customer service. Thank you! ”
